McCain/Palin inciting hate which leads to violence. Remember Rabin? Kennedy?

Some Republicans for Obama have started calling all the Republican Senator's offices talking to staff to alert them to the "embarrassing" and "potentially dangerous behavior" of the Republican Nominees- they are inciting crowds to the point where reporters were verbally attacked in a very hostile manner (see Dana Milbank in WP). If you are a Republican or even if you aren't or have ever voted Republican or know any Republicans please take a couple minutes to call the DC offices of a couple Senators or members of Congress. Of course you could also call your local office.

The staffers who answer the phone are extremely nice and polite- they don't ask for your name or details or anything like that. It's very pleasant.

A friend in Arizona called the other Rep. Senator, Jon Kyle- and his staff had no idea McCain and Palin are inciting riots on the campaign trail with the words "kill him" and "traitor" being yelled out by audience members without them getting arrested.

If enough of us call all the Republican Senators we just might effect a cooling down of this inflammatory rhetoric. I think Obama has good security, but it can spill over to other people, as it did at the Mosque in Dayton, OH.

It will be especially important to keep things a little cooler on Nov. 4. McCain needs to take some responsibility here. He's calling Obama a terrorist in all sorts of ways, and people who believe are justified in being mad. Someone is going to get hurt. McCain needs to take responsibility for what he is doing.

Remember that Palin quoted Westbrook Pegler in her GOP acceptance speech who called for the assassination of Robert Kennedy and the extermination of Jews. This is NOT a last-ditch desperate campaign. McCain is finally legitimizing the scary email campaign that has been going on for a year.

Remember what happened to Prime Minister Rabin? Assassinated by right winger after similar things were said about him for trying to enter into an agreement with the Palestinians for peace.

This from another member:

This morning on MSNBC Joe Scarborough dismissed the attacks by the McCain campaign as pale in comparison to what Bush did to McCain in 2000. He went on to mock people who are complaining about what they are doing.

John McCain, Sarah Palin and now the right wing extremists are taping into the fear, stress and frustration of the country and are inciting violence against Barack Obama. Inciting a mob to publicly call Barack a terrorist and call for him to be killed is reckless and evil. They are stoking the flames of intolerance and hatred and instead of dismissing it, the media should be helping douse the flames and condemn the hate speech which has been ignited all over the country against someone who is trying to help us change the disastrous path we are on. Please contact everyone you know and ask them to contact as many media outlets as they can.
